How To Instructions
Photoshop Images together as one
Step by step instructions:
1.Once you have logged into your computer and you are at the desktop, open up the big blue “E” called, internet explorer.
2.Now, if you’re looking for copyright images, (which you should be), find the site that you are looking for and type it in the URL address bar at the top of the page. Start with www. Then the name of the site, .com. So we’ll use www.gettyimages .com as an example.
3.Once you get there you’ll find the search bar on the top left side, and click into the bar.
4.You will then see an options type menu pop up. One of them will be checked off under “Royalty Free.” Uncheck that box and then type in your type of picture you want.
5.Once you have found your picture that you think fits the final project you want, click on it, and then it will open up as a bigger picture.
6.Right click then on the picture and a new menu will pop up, go to “save picture as,” and save it as a JPEG file (at the bottom of the box) with a file name that you will be able to remember to come back to it later.
7.Once you have one picture, go back to the homepage of gettyimages and do the exact same for your next picture.
8.Then when you have your two pictures go back to the desktop and open up Adobe Photoshop Elements, its symbol will be a sunflower.
9.In the top left corner of Photoshop click on file.
10.Then the third menu down click on open.
11.Find your two pictures you had saved earlier and open them up by holding down the “ctrl” button and clicking on the images you want. Then go to the bottom right part of the menu screen and click open.
12.Now you’re going to cut out part of one picture and paste it into the other you want it in. So on the tool bar you get on the left hand side go to it and move to mouse over each icon until you find the Lasso tool. Then right click on it and another bar will pop up, there select the magnetic lasso tool.
13.Then click on your picture you want to crop something out and use your magnetic lasso tool. Slowly move it around the part of the picture you want out.
14.When you get around your whole picture and back to where you started double click to make it all connect.
15.Then click “ctrl and c” and go to your other picture and click “ctrl and v.” This will then copy the picture you just cut out.
16.Now you may need to take your easer tool (on the bar on the left hand side again, same one you used for the Lasso Tool) and easer some parts that are still attached to your cut picture that you don’t want. Or also you can use a burn tool or other things to improve your image.
17.Once you think your picture is crystal clear and ready to go, click on the file button again at the top left corner and scroll down to the save as button, click on that.
18.When you save you can save it as a Photoshop picture, but to do anything else with it like post it to a blog or any of that you must save it as a JPEG file again. So to choose what you save it as, find the bar that says format (approximately in the middle of the menu) and go to the right side of that bar and click the bar, there you can scroll and find types of files you want to save it as. Note thought that certain file types are only used for certain programs.
19.There you have it a new Photoshop picture. Enjoy!

Self Evaluation
Describe your game (including a title).
Ice Palace of Doom is a platform type game. Your mission is to find the escape pod and fled all the on coming enemies. But before you can escape there are some locked doors that you have to find keys for. It's a challenging game for those who like to get a challenge or two in your day.
What is the objective of the game?
The objective of the game is to find your way out of the Ice Palace and get to the escape pod.
Discuss two strengths and one weakness of your game.
Strengths:
-It's not an easy game, so there's a challenge for some people that enjoy a challenge in their daily lives.
-It's fun to try and enjoy the enemies you encounter and all the obstacles you have to go through.
Weakness:
-It's quite long, so if you die near the end it's going to be a while before you get back to your spot.
What improvements could be made?
Maybe some more med packs could be added so it's not as hard as some may think it is.
What difficulties did you encounter while creating your game?
A difficulty I encountered while creating this game is at the start when you're just getting to know the features. It takes a while to understand and see what all you can use.
What did you have to modify or change from the original design?
In my original design I said that I would have for some missions to kill all enemies and get some crystals and get to the escape pod to win, but learning from the features I could only make one mission so that was then now to get to the escape pod.
Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of your performance during this assignment.
What did you do well at?
I use my class time very proficiently and try to improve my game any way I could.
What could you have done better at?
Instead of making the whole level above ground, possibly putting some of it down underneath because I could have put some more features and cool designs there.
Questions
1.)Is the game to challenging/hard?
2.)Are more enemies or power-ups needed to help?
3.)Is there anything that I could have done to make the game better?

Evaluate Other Game
Briefly describe the game, including its objectives.
The objective of the game was to kill all of the ememies. It's called the X Basement, it has lots of weapons to use to kill some of the harder enemies.
List two strengths of the game.
-It's fun, lots of things to enjoy in the gameplay.
-There is a slight challenge.
List one weakness of the game.
-It's quite short.
Answer the three questions provided by the game’s designer.
How did you feel about the underground route instead of just playing on the outside?
I felt like there could have been more part of the level above ground but I like the idea of underground.
Did you think i added to many power up such as med-kits and guns ?
Yes, I think there was a bit to much, because once you got to a certain point there was a mass amount and then it seemed to be easy there on.
Do you guys think that the game was long enough to play ?
No, I think it could have been much longer. Short games aren't the best type. People can finsih the game within 2 minutes.

Plan
The first thing I will do with my game is just test out the different items and landcapes. Just take a look at what all I have to work with. Doing this will help me understand what all I have to work with and I then know what I can use at certain points.
How will you insure that you complete the project on time?
I will insure I complete this project on time by using all my time in class i have with effort and purpose. If I think I need to catch up or Make some finsihing touches I will also work at home.
Who will test beta versions of your game?
I will ask a variety of people to test my game out and see what they think.
Will you incorporate other people’s suggestions into your game’s design?
Yes, incorporating other people's ideas will help improve your game tremendously. Other people can let you know what needs to be fixed or what maybe be a good suggestion.
How will you decide if you have created a good game or not?
I will decide if I have created a good game or not because I will take a look at the game difficulty, and if it's to low or high I know i have to change things up a bit. Also I will at the end of my game ask other people for their finally idea of the game.

Design
The game type i'm planning on creating is a Platform type.
What will it look like?
It will look sort of like a Mario type game setting. Blocks in set positions or some bad guys you have to fight off, possibly some items you must collect in a peroid of time.
How will the characters be controlled?
The characters will be controlled with a set of simple keys. "up arrow" key is to jump, "down arrow" key to crouch, and the "left and right arrow" keys to move side to side. The "space bar" will be to attack with your designated weapon, the "r" button for your radar, "x" button is for next tool, and "z" for your next weapon.
What will be the objective of the game?
The objective of the game will be to fight of all the enemies and once done so, get to the extraction point where you then complete the game.
How are you going to test its functionality?
To test it's functionality I will be testing the game out regularly. For example, everytime I add a part to the level I will make sure it's in the right postion and spot.
How will it be evaluated?
My game will be evaluated by others. Once I finsh part of my game design I will ask a variety of people to test out my game and see what they think about it and get their feed back on it. With this I will be able to get suggestions from others and improve my game to the next level.
How long will you need to create it? Give a timeline for its completion.
In my eyes from looking at some of the other games created I think it will take me about 3 weeks to a month possibly to make this game and complete is with every detail.

Investigate
-A good game must have good features to it. With key features you can change the gameplay tremendously. Without the key features to the game, people may be turned away from the game.
-Smooth gameplay. Nothing in the game is out of position. The controls should be set properly and not clanky.
-Good story line for the game. It should not be just be a random game mode/type, it needs to be well thought out and planned in the design.
-The game needs to have a relatively good plot to it. The game shouldn't just be something where you just walk around and pick things up to complete the game.
-The game should be interesting and something that you would want to come back to. You have to sell your game to the viewers. Make them want to play it again and tell others to get your game out in the real world.
-Innovation. The game should have new feautures that differ from other games of that type. This will make the game more popular.
What makes a “bad” game not enjoyable to play?
-Glitches. The game is not properly prepared. There are many feautures and controls that have not been properly dealt with.
-Proper difficulty. Nobody likes to play impossible games. Yes Challenging games can be fun but if it's to hard you will get much less views than if it were easier. Then again on the flop side if the game is way to easy you will as well get much less viewers. So in order to get the right game difficulty you must test your game multiple times, until you think the game is a challenge but nothing to hard.
-Bad grahpics. If the game has a bad picture or fussy, it's a lot harder to enjoy the game because the features are not fully opened up. I think graphics are key factor to a video game.

Soundtrack of My Life
Songs:I Believe I Can Fly: By R Kelly- In my eyes this is my favorite and most important song I have ever listened to. This is truly the soundtrack of my life, the lyrics of the song says exactly what I think day and night. It talks about how as long as you believe in whatever you want to achieve, if you believe before you achieve success will find you. Impossible is nothing to those who believe and try their best at every chance given, you will come back even after you lose the fight. This is song helps me truly discover the meaning of my life.
Heart of a Champion: By Nelly- This song is a song that kind of keeps the heart pumping blood to me, it’s a core part in my sports career. It talks about not giving up; always giving 110% even if you’re in a deep hole you find your way out. You fight to the end. Have the heart of a champion. This is a song that I would always listen to before a game or practice.
War: By Edwin Starr- This song is a very old one, I found out about this song watching the movie “Rush Hour,” I searched the song up and listened to it and I really liked it at first because the song had such a nice beat and groove to it. But then I looked at the lyrics to the song and it really shows how lucky we are to be living in freedom and have our family by our sides. The soldiers that go to war and risk their life’s to give us our freedom we deserve. So this song is a song that I listen to because it’s a nice groove but also I listen to it and think how lucky I am to have my family and friends by my side.
Overtime: By Ace hood Ft. Akon &T-Pain- Overtime, this is probably in my top three favorite songs of all time. It’s a song that really pumps me up for sports. It’s kind of like the song “Heart Of A Champion,” it a song that tells you to never give up even in the clutch moments or the rough times. You lay everything down on the table and fight for it, never backing down from any challenge even the impossible.
Be Who You Are: By Muzo- This song is by a young kid by the name of Evans Musonda. He came through Acadia and is now in gr.12 at FRC. I like a lot of his music because they are all really inspiring songs. This song “Be Who You Are,” it’s a song about how you should just be yourself and if people think you should change something or makes fun of you for what you are, you just have to forget about it and be who you really are. As long as you are happy with what you are and you’re happy that’s what matters.
The Point Of No Return: By Immortal Technique- This song reminds me of the times I have had to fight back and the points where I am at the edge of giving up. This song talks about the point of giving up, where you should never quit, finish what you started and don’t back down from the struggles you meat.
Forever Young: By Jay-Z Ft. Mr. Hudson- This song to me is the most inspiring song I have heard. It tells you that life’s short so do what you dream of always doing. Find something and set your mind on it. Life’s short so live it up to the fullest.
Hockey Night in Canada Theme Song: By / Composed Dolores Claman- I really like this song, even though there are no words to it, it reminds me and takes me back to those times when I use to play hockey. I loved hockey, my dad got me into it one day. We would always sit down on the couch and watch some of the games and just enjoy our bond together. This song will always remind me of my hockey days and just how my dad and I were so into it all the time.
Good Morning: By Chamillionaire- This song has carried me through the rough times of my life. Through bullying and all sorts of put downs from people. It’s about standing up for yourself and not caring what other people say about you. It talks about not letting anything mess your mood up or put you down. Just don’t listen to it and drive by. This song really helps me through the dirty times.

Photo Story
- This is a picture of a basketball. Basketball is pretty much a part of my daily life. I have been playing since i was 4 years old, it is my favourite sport. My dad is the inspiration that got me to start the game, today i still look for tips and keys in playing the game from my dad and anyone else.
- This second picture is a beach, now this is more of a Hollywood beach, not a beach that i would go to. This represents most of what me and my whole family do during our summer. At our beach we all are together and relax and have fun. We go to the beach and watch the sunset fall and its nice and peaceful. This is my mothers favourite place to be in the whole world.
- This picture is very special to me, because it reminds me of my dog bailey. She passed away on February 2, 2009. This was a very hard time for me and my whole family because she was a very important part of our life and she will always be remembered.
- This picture is the statue of Liberty, this represents where i want to live in my later life after i graduated from college. It is my dream place to be as N.Y is the basketball city in the world, and i want it to be a part of my life.
- This next picture is a picture of lord Jesus. This is important to me because i look up to Jesus in what to do in life when i am at tough times and there's no one to help me. I never really believe in God or Jesus, until the summer of 09 at a Providence college basketball camp. After listening to some of the speeches it really inspired me to learn more.
- This is one of the most important pictures to me because Lebron James is my top role model in sports. A guy coming from high school to the NBA and having probably the best maturity in the NBA. I always look up to him for tips in playing basketball or learning life keys. He gives me my determination to go more in basketball and become who he is.
- This next picture some people my say its not a good picture because of what Vick went through in the NFL career. I still do like him for that reason, but i like to watch him play the game because my other professional sport that i would play if i would not want to go in the NBA would to play professional football as i find it very fun. I look up to Vick as to play the game.
- Akon is my favourite singer/rapper. Why? Because some of his songs i like to listen to just for some fun and good music. But also a lot of his music i listen to are very inspirational to me. I listen to a lot of his songs before playing a sports game like basketball for example.
9. This is a picture of sushi, now some of you may say, "why does a white kid like sushi that's weird," yes i agree with you and i have heard many people say that. But to me its not just my favourite food, it's my whole families favourite food. We go to a sushi restaurant and there we feel like we actually get a chance to talk during supper, rather than normal days where we are always on the run. I like my sushi!
10. This last picture of mine represents alot about me and my passion for basketball. This is wear my dream of one day playing professional basketball all starts off. University of North Carolina (UNC) is where i would like to go for University and get a good scholarship for the basketball team. This to me, is my most important goal in life because i know if i can achieve this that anything will be possible.
